Let me state the obvious here… MY mom is the best mom in the world. And over the years, I’ve discovered so much just by observing the way she sees and lives her life.
1. I’ve learned about humbleness.
It’s easy to be cynical and think you’re better than others, but it takes a good heart like hers to be humble. I learned that just by seeing how she treats others.
2. I’ve learned about giving.
Whether it’s money, time, or effort, she never hesitates to give generously. While I, on the other hand, am rarely willing to open-heartedly give a few thousand rupiahs for a parker (alias tukang parkir). “Give. You won’t be poor because of it.” she said.
3. I’ve learned that there’s always a way to travel the world.
I LOVE traveling, and I think my love for travel comes from my mom and her traveling stories. I learned that whatever your passion is, it will follow you no matter what your line of work is. She’s been everywhere, and it’s my goal to follow her footsteps.
4. I’ve learned that you can never stop learning.
She’s got a doctorate degree. She’s got a record for being the first female Indonesian scientist in Architectural Acoustics. She shares her knowledge to people and inspires them. Even now, I think she’s still eager to learn something new everyday. God knows I still got much to learn from her too.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
